Services - Diagnostic Technology

Technology plays an important role in the diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of horses. We are pleased to be able to provide our clients with many of the most advanced diagnostic tools available in veterinary care.

Our in-house laboratory allows for rapid diagnostics at all times with the capability to perform complete blood counts, blood chemistry panels, and serum fibrinogen concentrations. Based on lab results from these tests , we are able to evaluate patients suspected of infections, colicking patients suffering from dehydration, and various kidney and liver abnormalities. Additionally, through Endoscopy and Ultrasonography we have the capability to evaluate and monitor upper & lower respiratory problems as well as gastrointestinal abnormalities.

• Digital Radiography provides a high quality image that can be enlarged and enhanced to reveal problems that might go undetected on traditional x-rays. Digital images can be viewed quickly, stored electronically and easily shared with owners and consulting veterinarians.
• Digital Ultrasonography is used to identify and evaluate soft tissue injuries. We also use ultrasound to aid us evaluating the healing progress of an injury.
• Fiber-optic Endosopy equipment is used to examine and diagnose upper airway problems. Using the video endoscope we are able to see and diagnose disorders of the larynx, pharynx, and adjacent structures.
